iPhone Gets Unlocked

7 weeks, 6 days, and 6 hours. Thats how long it took to unlock the iPhone. A group of hackers from the iPhoneSIMFree.com website have been working diligently since the release of the phone to unlock it, making it usable on any GSM network and, as of 12am today, they have succeeded. The unlock, which apparently only takes a couple of minutes, will completely free your phone from the shackles of at&t as well as keep its freedom even if the phone is updated via iTunes. While I have yet to try the hack (I am perfectly fine with at&t), the trustworthy folks at Engadget have posted their results along with a video, proving its real. This is great news for T-Moble fans and anyone who lives outside the United States, including France, Germany, and Vermont.
